Redesigned by Mercedes in 2003, the 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK series did away with the B-pillars, giving the cars additional weight and torsion stiffness.
The 2005 CLK series provides the usual Mercedes elegance, with the perfect blend of power and control. This series is one of the best that this German car manufacturer has to offer, and one look at the stylish exterior speak volumes.
The 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK is available with three engine types – there is a 3.2 liter V-6 engine that produces 215 hp for the Cabriolet and the CLK320 coupe, and then there is the more powerful 5.0 liter engine that produces a huge 362 horsepower. There is also a V-8 364 horsepower 5.5 liter engine that is only available with the CLK55 AMG.
Safety features are extensive including four side-impact airbags designed with special emphasis on saving passengers from head and thorax damage with front side impact airbags in the Cabriolet.
The Mercedes Electronic Stability Program and anti-lock brakes come as standard features making it one of the safest cars on the road. The CLK is unquestioningly one of the most pleasurable cars to drive, especially the CLK500 Cabriolet.
